William Horton is a Partner in the
Toronto office Litigation Department of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where
he practises corporate/commercial litigation and arbitration.
Bill has appeared before all levels
of Courts up to and including the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a fellow of
the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a panel member of ADR Chambers,
Toronto, ADR Chambers International and of the ADR Institute of Ontario. Bill
has successfully represented clients in significant cases involving business
and corporate disputes, fraud, lender liability, international banking
disputes, litigation arising from major insolvencies and re-organizations,
fiduciary duty and good faith obligations, directors and officers liability,
professional liability, insurance disputes, competition offences, defamation,
shareholder disputes, class actions and injunctive remedies.
In addition to his practice, Bill
has been extensively involved in the International Bar Association (IBA) and is
part of Chair of the International Litigation Committee of the Section on
Business Law. He has also served as the Chair of the IBA Project on Common
Principles for Multi-jurisdictional Litigation.
