James. E. Redmond is a mediator and arbitrator with ADR Chambers.
Over the last 20 years, Jim has spent his time as an arbitrator, mediator and as counsel in corporate and commercial matters both internationally and domestically. He has experience in a range of commercial matters including, securities, banking, auditing, professional responsibility, insolvency, construction, competition, constitutional, franchising, oil and gas, insurance, technology licensing, and real and intellectual property.
Jim is a member of the International Bar Association and its arbitration section, and of the London Court of International Arbitration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. He is a panel member of the ICC Canadian Committee, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, ADR Institute of Canada (C.Arb.), the B.C. International Commercial Arbitration Centre, CIBA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Panel, and the Energy Arbitrators’ List. Jim recently served as a member of the ICC Task Force on Reducing Time and Cost in Arbitration.
Jim obtained his B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Alberta where he was a gold medalist in his law class and was the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship. He received a B.C.L. degree with first class standing from the University of Oxford. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution categories, and in Lexpert in International Commercial Arbitration. Jim holds a Certificate in Negotiation and Mediation from the University of Windsor.
